Put The Personal Back In The College Essay Through this joint effort we seek to enroll underrepresented students of high-achievement that desire to work in healthcare and represent the diverse communities in which they serve. Rice and Baylor College of Medicine select a limited number of first-year students each year to pursue a four-year bachelor's degree at Rice, followed by conditional admission to Baylor College of Medicine. Freshman admissions decisions are based on the strength of your high school curriculum, SAT or ACT scores, extra-curricular activities and one letter of recommendation. Clubs and organizations are a great way for students to make new friends and get involved. Rice will allow first-year and transfer student applicants to undergraduate degree-seeking programs for the application cycle to submit SAT or ACT test scores, if they choose. Students who are unable to submit test scores or prefer not to submit test scores will be given full consideration in the admission selection process. Students admitted with curriculum deficiencies will be asked to complete the required work by taking high school or college-level courses during the summer before enrollment at Rice. Those classified as Florida residents pay less in fees per credit hour than do those classified as non-Florida residents. Current FGCU students, classified as non-Florida residents, who seek reclassification must contact the Office of the Registrar. The weighted, or district, GPA reported on your high school transcript will be used in the admissions review process. If your school does not provide a weighted GPA, then one will be calculated using the grades in the courses above. Rice seeks students who demonstrate intellectual vitality through their course selection and their grade performance. Most applicants will challenge themselves by taking advantage of the rigorous coursework available to them. Students wishing to provide additional exams for admission consideration are welcome to submit these to our office. These exams are purely optional and at the discretion of the students to submit. We want students to have every opportunity to showcase their strengths and academic achievements where possible. Rice University awards transfer credit for International Baccalaureate examinations for students who hold the International Baccalaureate Diploma and have obtained a score of 6 or 7 on higher level exams. A limited number of undergraduate students not meeting this requirement may be admitted; however, these students must fulfill the requirement prior to completion of the baccalaureate degree. Enrolled students are charged tuition and fees based on their residency classification as either Florida resident or non-Florida resident. is accepted by 57 of the 64 SUNY campuses and allows you to apply to any of the 57 SUNY colleges with one application. Interested students are encouraged to submit either the Common Application or the SUNY Application as well as the appropriate supplemental form. The decision comes following guidance by the University System of Georgia in response to the cancellation of spring SAT and ACT testing dates. Prospective first-year students must meet all other admission requirements, including satisfactory completion of the Required High School Curriculum and all other requested documentation.
